MVE Fusion Freezer

With the goal of reducing or completely eliminating dependence on liquid nitrogen, MVE has developed the Fusion Freezer—the world’s first cryogenic freezer with self-contained cooling. The MVE Fusion is a liquid-based biological storage freezer that resembles a highly efficient LN₂ freezer in structure and design, but operates without a continuous supply of LN₂. This makes the cryogenic container ideal for use in remote locations, isolated rooms, high-altitude facilities, or infrastructure without vacuum-insulated piping. The MVE Fusion provides reliable cryogenic storage—without the need for a continuous supply of LN₂.

MVE Variō Series

The MVE Variō series offers an innovative, energy-efficient solution for storage at cryogenic temperatures. The cryogenic tanks in the MVE 1500 and 1800 series allow for individually adjustable temperatures ranging from -20°C to -150°C; with an optional conversion kit, temperatures as low as -190°C can even be achieved. Thanks to the completely dry storage area, the risk of contamination from liquid nitrogen (LIN) is significantly reduced. Unlike mechanical freezers, the temperature profile remains stable even when the lid is open or when warmer samples are placed inside. This reliably protects sensitive samples from harmful temperature fluctuations.

Long-term storage, large quantities

Biobanks, IVF
If you need to archive many samples - e.g. thousands of vials or ampoules - permanently and securely, the MVE High-Efficiency series and the HEco series are the first choice. These cryogenic tanks offer extremely high storage densities (from ~15,600 to over 94,500 vials) and ensure dry, stable sample storage at -190 °C. Thanks to their vacuum-insulated design, optimized LN₂ lines and low evaporation losses, they minimize the consumption of liquid nitrogen and reduce operating costs - ideal for long-term cryogenic storage and large inventories.

Regular access to samples

Research laboratories and clinical facilities
The MVE Vario series offers a flexible and energy-efficient solution for laboratories with frequent access to samples or changing requirements. The Vario tanks allow individually adjustable temperatures (e.g. -20 °C to -150 °C, with conversion kit also up to -190 °C) and thus adaptation to different sample types. Dry sample storage reduces the risk of contamination by LN₂ and ensures constant temperature profiles - even if the cryogenic tank is opened or warmer samples are introduced.

Locations with limited infrastructure

Remote locations, high altitudes
If a constant supply of liquid nitrogen is not guaranteed - e.g. for facilities without vacuum-insulated lines - the MVE Fusion Freezer is ideal. This self-sufficient cryogenic freezer does not require a permanent supply of LN₂ and still offers cryogenic storage. This makes it perfect for clinics, field research, mobile laboratories or facilities with limited infrastructure.

Transportation and short-term sample movement

Transport routes at the same location
The MVE CryoCart is designed for safe interim storage during transportation. With a holding time of up to 18 hours with the lid closed, integrated temperature monitoring and optional LN₂ connection, the mobile workstation offers a reliable solution for moving samples between different cryogenic tanks. For longer distances, we recommend our nitrogen transport containers, which are also approved for international flights.
